How to use Surfwars.net for the best results.
1: Account Activision
Go surf 50 sites to fully activate your
account, any joining bonus credits will be allocated once you do this and
your referrer will receive their bonus credits for referring you.
If you have not used a
traffic exchange before. Surfing is a term for viewing our members websites.
Once the timer has counted down you can click the matching image or if you
choose the hover mode, just hover over the image, then the next website will load. You
receive credits for each page you view which differ depending on your membership
level. These credits are then use at a rate of 1 credit when a member views
your site once.
2: Adding your Sites
Go to My Sites which is
located in the top and side menus in your members area, then add the websites
you wish to promote. If you use a rotator then add that there to, we highly
recommend you use a rotator for all you Exchanges as it saves you loads of time
when adding new web sites to the exchanges. For full details go here:

Tip:
If you are building up your credits, then add more sites even if you repeat the
same ones. Building up credits does not help you promote, you sites need to be
seen.
3: Adding your Banners
Go
to My Banners and add your banners for rotation, these banners
will be seen on the surfing bar whilst or members surf, banners should be 468 x
60 otherwise they will be remove at the approval stage. Any banners that do not
get approved are normally the wrong size or no image is displaying so please
make sure you have the details correct before submitting. These banners will be
shown on the Surf Bar whilst you and all the other members area surfing. Premium banners which are shown on our homepage and in our members area can
be
purchased here.
4: Adding your Text Links
Go
to My Text Links and add your text link, these are text adverts
that appear on the surf bar whilst the members are surfing. Try to use short
and catchy slogans that are no longer than 30 characters long.
5:
Promoting our site
To promote our site please go
to the Promo Tools or Affiliate Tools section. In there you
will find banners and splash pages you can place in other Traffic Exchanges. You
will receive part credits each time you show our splash page, at present you
will get 0.05 of for each display so 20 displays will give you one credit, this
is very unique among the traffic exchanges so make the most of promoting our
site so you can promote your own sites here for less work.
6: Team Surfing - The Surf Wars
You will see in our members area current
information regarding the Surf Wars. It will show your whether there is a Surf
War going on and who is in the lead. The winner is decided by the side which has
the highest surfing average. This makes it fairer as one team might have more
members, so we add the total number of pages surfed by each team then divide it
by the number of surfers. That gives us the average surf and the winning team is
the one with the highest average at the end of the Surf War.
7: Power Surfing
Look out for the Power Surf sessions that we will
hold here. You can tell if the Power Surf is on by looking at the top of the
members area. Look just under the table which shows the Surf War info. You will
see there whether the Power Surf is on or off. You will also get an email
telling you about the Power Surf, plus on the surf bar you will see an image
which is a large
P with a blue
light sabre above it. Power Sessions will give all members a boost on their surf
ratio plus a faster surf timer.
8: Hover and Image Surfing
Whilst surfing our members sites you have a choice
on how you select the next site once the counter has counted down. You can have
image surfing which means you have to click on one of the four images that
matches the image that appears on the extreme left. The second choice is hover
surfing, this allows you just to hover your mouse over the image that appears
after the counter has counted down. How you select Hover surf or image surf is
easy, just look near the very bottom of the left hand menu and you will see
Hover Surf, click it and the page will refresh, it will now say Image
Surf, however now when you go surfing you will be in Hover Surf Mode. To
change back just click Image Surf and it will change back for you.
How to earn extra
credits
In your members area you will see a banner
advert near the top. You will receive 2 credits per 10 second view you
will only be able to view each add once a day. You can keep going until you
reach the end of all the adverts that are there. You can pay for your ad to be
there if you wish. Just go to the
Buy Credits link and look for featured
adverts.
You can also win extra credits by
regularly surfing as we run daily, weekly and monthly surfing contesting and
also keep an eye out for the prizes whilst you surf, when you see a YOU WIN page
click on the link to claim the prize. The prize will automatically be added to
your account as you continue to surf. Note: You can check
the live stats to see if your in the running for the Daily, Weekly and Monthly
contests by going to the
Surfing
Contest link on the members menu.
The final way to get extra credits is by
referrals. If you refer a member and they surf you will receive credits for
there activity. See below for details.

Plus when you refer a new member,
once they have activated their account by surfing 50 sites you will receive
bonus credits. Surf Trooper will receive 15 credits, Traffic Hunters will
receive 25 credits and Surf Masters will receive 50 credits.
